The triumphantly sinister riffing in this LP's title track encapsulates what makes Rebel Wizard so great: a perfect balance of 2nd wave black metal evil and trad-metal riff-pyrotechnics.
Favorite track: magickal mystical indifference.

Wow. Rebel Wizard flew under my radar for way too long. I started with this record and worked my way backwards and can't say there's a bad record. This record definitely is the culmination of RBL WZRD so far. If you like magikal black thrash, give this record a spin.
Favorite track: the mind is not your friend.

Located at the intersection of black and thrash, this album hoons through the intersection like only an Australian wearing a wizard hat shredding epic solos while car surfing could.
Favorite track: heavy negative wizard metal in-fucking-excelsis.

No denying the talent on display here. I prefer the harder songs on this release which sound like a black metal version of Iron Maiden getting accidentally booked to play at the Renaissance Festival. The acoustic passages, however, just kind of sound like you are actually at the Ren Fest... which for many honestly can be a take it or leave it option. bcb723
